India 6G Bharat Mission Explained
The speed with which we consume and use data on mobile today has a very major role of 5G, according to which 5G has been penetrating very fast in India, but there is one thing in the world of technology that it cannot stop. Day by day we need something new, so today I am talking about 6G, about India's Bharat 6G mission, it is very interesting, there are many amazing technology & developments too.
If we go a little bit into the past then we will see that it took a little time for the technology to come from somewhere in India, which is our experience in the past, it took a lot of time to come to 3G, then it took a lot of time to come to 4G. In the matter of 5G, that India's 5G rollout has happened rapid innovation & development and it has been the fastest in the whole world. If you look at the geography of India, we have such a big country, we have so many differences, there is forest, desert, rains it means how diverse is the landscape of India, but still India has the fastest 5G rollout in the world. And you are seeing affordable 5G phones are available in online & offline market between Rs 10000 INR to Rs 12000 INR. And at the same time, where we were on 4G, we immediately moved to 5G, but the future is even bigger for India because the idea of this Bharat 6G mission is that India should develop 6G technology in India and not just for India, India will also supply the technology to other countries in the world. India is lagging a little bit on 3G and 4G but 5G it has become such neck to neck, hence the idea of 6G Bharat mission in India will lead the world. If you see, the digital economy of India is growing very fast, today every person is making UPI contactless payment through QR scan, transactions are in billions in a month.
Lets talk about digital connected eco system so India is a very unique case study, the big brands in the world like Google, Meta, Microsoft, all of them want to come to India, which means they want to invest more in India. They want to develop their IOT products, because there is a simple reason the penetration of technology smartphones is very high in India today. Today, more than thousands of kilometers of optical fiber cable network has been spread across India. We are talking about Bharat Net program where broadband is reaching every village of India, the subscribers of mobile broadband have been drastically proved in the past 8-10 years old.
So here we are talking about 6G, it is on a different level, if you are wondering what is going to happen in 6G? So i can say minimum 2 points which is going to be in 6G and when 6G comes at the end of this decade till 2030 that means in the coming 6-7 years we are seeing that we will be using high speed 6G in IOT devices.
• First of all there will be low latency in 6G, the meaning of low latency is 1 microsecond latency. If we go to 5G then we are getting latency today is 1 millisecond latency, 1 millisecond meaning is 1 second is 0.001 second. If we talk about 6G latency is 1 microsecond, that is 0.001 part of 1 millisecond, that is 1 second is 1 million of a second which means 10 lakh part of 1 second, the latency in 6G will be less than 5G. Whatever data you are transmitting, whatever data you are communicating, the latency is like almost zero, because of 1 microsecond technology.
• If we talk about second point, the data speeds then they will be much faster because we are talking about TERAHERTZ (THz), today if you see we are usually operating on GIGAHERTZ (GHz). Whether the spectrum is used for 4G or 5G, whether it is 3.3 GHz or 700 MHz or 2.2 GHz, or what are the ways in which the spectrum is being obtained but with 6G we will move into the TERAHERTZ (THz) because here these THz waves are very fragile and at the same time the bandwidth is going to be very high. So the potential here is that in the whole system of THz, it is going to be of benefit to us somewhere and the network capacity is going to increase a lot and the latency is going to get a lot less. Things like for example true wireless charger like you hold a mobile phone in your hand and the charger is placed in a corner of your house and from there you are able to charge. So the THz technology everything falls in THz domain.
The mission of Bharat 6G will be to promote all the developments in 6G and ensure that the infrastructure grows alongside, in terms of proof of concept and all the research and development taking place. Any equipment that will be made aims to move towards a independent (Atma Nirbhar) 6G.
